Dawn Harsch, senior care, Edmonton

Dawn Harsch RN, BScN, MBA

Owner/Operator

From a young age, Dawn loved spending time with the elderly - a bond that undoubtedly began while learning to dance with her small feet perched on top of her Grandpa’s, as he hummed his favourite tune. This love for the elderly grew over time, and resulted in her decision to enter the nursing profession.

In the early part of her career, Dawn gained invaluable clinical experience working directly with the elderly and their families and has extensive experience in building successful health care teams, trained to ensure proficient and safe delivery of care. She worked in numerous managerial and director roles with the regional health authority, but left to pursue her dream of creating a nurturing, caring, and loving model of care for elders. Dawn wholeheartedly believes that our elder citizens are one of our society’s greatest treasures, deserving the utmost respect and consideration. Dawn's passion for creating a nurturing and loving environment where elders can continue to lead fulfilling lives is the driving force behind the ExquisiCare home experience.

Dawn and her husband, Cory are the proud parents to three beautiful children. She enjoys volunteering with many community leagues and charities.

Dawn was honoured by Avenue Magazine as one of Edmonton's Top 40 Under 40 in 2011. In 2013 she was named by Business In Edmonton magazine as one of Edmonton's Top 20 Future Visionary Business Leaders. She was featured on Global TV as a Woman of Vision in October 2014. Dawn is a Director on the Board of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Alberta Council of Aging, the Alberta Gerontology Association, the Alberta Gerontology Nurses Association, The Canadian Gerontology Nurses Association, and is a Registered Nurse with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta. She holds both an undergraduate Degree in Nursing and a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
